Introduction

11/3/2023

An introduction to my blog seems a good place to start. Now, I feel that I must put a disclaimer here: reading my blog, you may feel intimidated by the high quality images and general finesse of the site. It may come as a surprise to learn that I have done it all myself..

My name is Kathryn. The above image is me (well, not actually me but work with me here and if necessary, re-read the above disclaimer). I am a wife and a mother to three boys. I also have secondary breast cancer, I was diagnosed in the summer of 2022 and have spent the last year putting myself back together. My cancer is not curable but it is treatable and treatment is currently going well. I don’t want to write too much about the cancery stuff in my introduction because although it’s now an integral part of who I am, it does not define me and I have much more exciting things to talk about.

My sons are aged 14, 11 and 3 (please refer to the high class image below for more detail). Parenting three boys of such different ages is quite challenging. And by “challenging” I mean really, really hard work. If I were to come up with a metaphor to help describe this then it would probably involve fire and screaming. Luckily, my three boys are absolutely wonderful. Feral but wonderful. Feral. They don’t stop: the three of them form some sort of hyperactive tag-team that has been created to cause as much noise, chaos and destruction as possible. It goes without saying that I adore them, I don’t need an outlet to write about that so please don’t expect this blog to be a delightful place to read about the joys of my children. However, if you fancy reading something real then this may be the place for you.
